Benefits of Swimming

Being active can help you live longer and feel better. It can improve your mood and help you sleep better. It can help you manage your weight and improve your balance.

Surveys have shown the activity that most people want to take part in is in fact swimming as they feel that it is the best type of exercise as 30 minutes of steady paced lane swimming burns over 200 calories, which is equal to over 400 an hour.

What sort of improvement should I expect?

This will largely depend upon how much effort you put into maintaining your exercise programme. People who have enrolled onto our activities have already shown improvements such as reduced blood pressure, weight loss and improved flexibility. However, just as important are the psychological benefits, such as “I feel better in myself” or “I don’t get so tired anymore”.
